Meet my friends and special people
Periodically I will be introducing you to some special friends of mine. I will introduce them but they will tell you about themselves. Intelligent, knowledgable and informed, read about them and learn from them and you will enrichen your life.

Holistic Wellness
Is this a new term for you? I know you know what it feels like. Notice how you feel more fulfilled, productive and relate better to your loved ones and colleagues when you are well in body, mind and spirit. That is holistic wellness.
Being in charge of your own life, and being empowered to make choices begins with a commitment to looking after yourself. Your wellness program looks different depending on whether you are in the stage of
prevention and strengthening,
intervention and replenishing,
maintenance, or
growth.
As a Holistic Wellness Practitioner. I can help you examine the circumstances you perceive as challenges, and the core beliefs that may keep you from working with it constructively.
Looking after yourself means regularly nourishing yourself — seeking out things that are strengthening: a walk in nature, a look at the night sky. I can offer you Reiki or other complementary therapies like Therapeutic Touch, guided imagery, progressive relaxation, breathing techniques. You can use meditation, gratitude, journaling, playing, singing, artistic expression …
Building Resilience to handle stress is a big part of holistic wellness. A little stress is a good thing. It keeps you interested, stimulated, and alert. It keeps you from boredom and apathy. Stress that continues over a long period can negatively affect your health, performance, productivity, relationships and general morale. Even some short term stresses can lead you to be less than effective in some situations.
You cannot escape stress in the world today. You can, however, learn how to work with it. This is what we call building resilience. With an altered perspective and awareness of your choices you can better manage stress and have a positive effect on work life balance, life transitions, family and financial stress, and workplace stress.
Mostly it is a matter of feeling empowered in the face of challenge, seeing obstacles and disappointments as opportunities for change and growth and intentionally making choices toward an optimistic and hopeful future.
Easier said than done! That is why it is helpful to have some guidance, to learn some ways to shift to a new way of perceiving life with daily practices that support the continuing effectiveness of the shift. For more information or to set up an appointment contact me. Check out the retreats and workshops I lead. Perhaps one or more will fit your wellness program or help you develop one.
In love and light,
Marie Knapp
